Captain's Artistic Creations

Art projects, online and real world, that I have been involved in.

- - -

LiveWired
While this was technically a commercial DHTML "push" channel for the Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 channel launch, it is much easier classified as Wired Digital's conceptual art piece.

- - -

49,682,923 stories about
This was a piece that I created with my partner Anna McMillan. It was commissioned for HotWired's RGB gallery. It is an experiment in generative storytelling.

- - -

Metasyntactic Variable
One of my first online artworks. I was experimenting with randomness and fugues of patterns. I had originally developed this with gif89s, but the final version employed javascript.

- - -

0.stations
This was a piece that was created with Erik Adigard and Mike Kuniavsky for the Dig It show at the Limm gallery. It employed projected imagery and motion tracking.

- - -

LiveWired(SFMOMA installation)
In-between incarnations of LiveWired we built a version for inclusion in the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art for the Icons: Magnets of Meaning show.

- - -

Garden of Earthly Delights
My first internet artwork. This rave/performance piece was an installation that took the form of Heironymous Bosch's tryptic The Garden of Earthly Delights. A virtual space was created on Lambda MOO that mirrored the performance space.

Chaos Theory
My first stage show, and what started me down this whole road of computers. This performance piece that explored the dangers and changes that technology brings, involved video projection, movement and techno.
